Shelly-Ann Harris has been writing poetry for more than 20 years. Her work has been published in the Jamaica Observer and the Jamaica Gleaner. She was the Redbones Poet of the Year 2008; third-place winner in the International Society of Poets Competition Las Vegas 2007 and award recipient in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission’s Creative Writing Competition for her recent play “Extradition Request.” She has appeared on various television programs in Jamaica including Lyrically Speaking, Word Power and Jamaica Magazine.
She is sensitive to women’s issues, Jamaican history and culture, relationships and matters of the spirit.
