Avant Academy of Music will be featuring Nicolleen Brown in concert. Their Mentors Showcase features the talents and abilities of their music teachers, promotes the school and is a way to bring the family of students, family and friends together for a night of beautiful music.

Nicolleen started singing from the age of five years old. She comes from a long line of singers and is the first one in her family to have chosen to make a career from her singing voice.  Nicolleen’s sound is a blend of Gospel, R&B and heart-rending Power Ballads. For her show, Nicolleen has chosen a selection of songs from pop music to musical theatre.

During high school in Westmoreland she was a consistent winner in the JCDC Festival competition. Between 2006 and 2008 she won the Most Outstanding Student in Negro Spirituals, Most Outstanding Student in Music and eventually winning the National Children Gospel Competition using the cash prize to pay for her first year of study at the Edna Manley College for the Visual & Performing Arts.

Nicolleen performs as a back-up vocalist with the band Kabaka Pyramid & the Bebble Rockers and enjoys singing in the praise & worship team at her church, the Church of God of Prophecy on Old Hope Road never leaving her foundation in Gospel music far behind.

She is the vocal mentor at Avant Academy of Music.
