WINSOME BENJAMIN is an international reggae artiste who has made an impressive mark across the world particularly in GERMANY, the USA, CANADA and indeed THE CARIBBEAN. Born and raised in Jamaica, she began singing in church at the age of four. In1994 she migrated to Germany where she began singing professionally.
She then became that force to be reckoned with when she produced and released her first gospel album entitled “Live for Jesus” in 1997. Her hit single “My Sweet Lord” was produced and released in 2000 by Desi Jones. Songs which made her more famous were “Bring The Family Back” and “Give It Up For Jesus “ both of which were released in 2002. Winsome has also performed with prominent entertainers such as Inner Circle, Doug E Fresh, Ken Boothe, Cecile, Queen Ifica, Machel Mantano, Chevelle Franklyn, Carlene Davis, Tarus Riley, Ken Boothe, The Grace Thrillers, Gramps Morgan, BB Seaton, Ernie Smith, Junior Tucker, Papa San, John Holt, Lt. Stichie, Pam Hall, Judy Emanuel, Awilo Longomba, Karen Smith, Daddy U-Roy, Leroy Sibbles, Boris Gardener, Dwight Pinkney, Dean Frazer, Tommy Cowan, Buju Banton, Damian Marley and many others.
Her dedication has led her to release her latest album “Where birds can’t fly” in late 2008, of which she was nominated for two awards at the International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) 2010. She was recently featured on Daddy U-Roy’s newest album “Pray Fi Di People” with the Stylistics classics “Ebony Eyes” and her newest single “I Believe” featuring Daddy U-Roy, was also produced and released by Desi Jones in 2012.
Ewart Beckford OD (born 21 September 1942), known by the stage name U-Roy, is a Jamaican vocalist and pioneer of toasting. U-Roy is noted for a melodic style of toasting applied with a highly developed sense of timing.
