Rupert Bent, one of the Caribbean’s top guitarists, began his musical career as lead guitarist for Jamaica’s world famous Byron Lee and the Dragonaires, a popular dance band that has toured the world for many years. Transitioning from pop to jazz, he then formed several groups in Jamaica and Canada, performing in North America, Europe and the Caribbean. He has played and recorded with many internationally renowned musicians, and has recorded three albums of his own. Drawing from his exposure, Rupert plays all genres of music, as occasions require, and imbues his music with shades of R&B, Latin, Jazz, Reggae and Caribbean styles to paint a kaleidoscope of sound.
