Music has been in his soul since birth, being the son of one of Jamaica’s favourite reggae acts – Tony Rebel – Abatau and his band Tribe Azizi will be bringing A NEW SOUND TO REGGAE WITH their new single “LOWE MI NATTY”

“LOWE MI NATTY” is a fusion of reggae with jazz and blues blended with a touch of R & B. The vibes of the track is self-explanatory, where this seventeen year old songwriter, Abatau Barrett, expresses his deep emotions and conscious feelings about living with his locks.

A recent graduate of Calabar High School,  and a holder of six (6) CXC’s, Abatau is taking a break from formal education and instead is ready to chart his own musical career and present his talent to local and international audiences much like his reggae artist father Tony Rebel.  Not wanting to trod the same path or walk in his father’s footstep ABATAU & TRIBE AZIZI have created their own unique style.

In 2010, he wrote his first song, Mummy Mummy, at the tender age of 12 years old. That same year, he performed at the Launch of Rebel Salute and subsequently performed at Rebel Salute 2011 to an appreciative audience. It was at that said Rebel Salute, Abatau fell in love with the stage and performing.

In June 2015, Abatau sought his own band and found a match with Tribe Azizi, comprising of Sebastian, drummer, Joel, guitarist, Joseph, keyboard player and Forbes, bass player. Collectively they plan to bring a new sound to reggae with conscious and uplifting lyrics in their songs.

Abatau & Tribe Azizi is managed by LivingWell Entertainment, headed by Abatau’s mom, Alisia Jarrett and step father, former Third World Band member, Carrot Jarrett, who are also the Executive Producers of Lowe Mi Natty.
